Futsal League 2021

Matches are an essential part of sports, they give rise to competitive spirit and sportsmanship. With this thought, an interclass Futsal League was organised by and for the students of the Department of geology. The objective was to provide a platform for our students to showcase their team playing skills and stamina but more importantly provide an opportunity to get to know each other, especially for the First year students this served as an excellent ice breaker.

The group stage matches were held on 23th March 2021 during the afternoon sessions. The first match was played between FY and TY, of which the TY won the match by 2 goals with their splendid performance.  In the second match FY penetrated into the defences of their rival team against the SY but could not score any goal. SY, on the other hand showed its extraordinary skills and a good teamwork and won the match with 6 goals. The team of FY was cheered by their supporters since it was their first experience in the field of Futsal. The third match was between SY and TY, both the teams were equally good, but the TY won the match by 1 goal. All the matches came to an end and the FY were knocked out due to the 2 losses.

The SY and TY were once again set for the finals of the Nebula Futsal League on 24 th March 2021. Both the teams were high in spirit, the forwards of both teams made great attacks. TY got took lead before the first half time. The SY team doubled their efforts to avoid the defeat. Near the end the game got really exciting and interesting. Just at the last minute the SY stole a goal, there was thunderous applause when the goal was scored by the SY supporters. The match was then draw , and the winner was decided by the penalty.

Each player tried to score a goal, the SY players missed one goal .TY with their unswerving performance throughout the tournament ultimately won the Nebula Futsal League 2021.
