Induction of the committee of Club Nebulites by the Geology Department

On 6 th August 2019, the Department of Geology - Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science – conducted the Induction of the Club Nebulites Committee. Our chief guests of honour Dr. Antonio Mascarenhas, a retired scientist from NIO, and Mr. Abhijeet Prabhudessai, member of the NGO – Rainbow Warriors, were warmly welcomed. Dr. Antonio Mascarenhas and Sir. Harish Nadkarni, HOD of the Department unveiled and inaugurated the new department logo designed by Samuel Afonso from TY BSc Geology and his cousin Jeremy Afonso which symbolises a new beginning and vision for the Department followed by recognition of the committee members by displaying their achievements and distributing their respective badges. Nebula Futsal League, Department of Geology

“Sports not only build better athletes, but also better people” Said Julie Foudy, an American Athlete. The Nebula Futsal League was a successful attempt in bonding within the students of all years of the Department of Geology. Even though it turned out to be really competitive, in the end, all the players/students left the court with smiles on their face. The group stage matches were held on 29 th of July during the morning sessions. All the teams gave their best in all the matches and made the event a rather exciting one. The first match was between The FYs and the TYs, of which the TYs won the match with a dominant display of skills. The FYs made a strong comeback in the first half of their next match against the SYs, but they could not hold their lead together in the second half as the SYs gave a fitting reply to their opponents and won the match. The third match between the TYs and the SYs was a little uneventful, but nevertheless exciting. Both teams held their own throu
