Nebula Futsal League, Department of Geology

“Sports not only build better athletes, but also better people” Said Julie Foudy, an American Athlete. The Nebula Futsal League was a successful attempt in bonding within the students of all years of the Department of Geology. Even though it turned out to be really competitive, in the end, all the players/students left the court with smiles on their face.

The group stage matches were held on 29th of July during the morning sessions. All the teams gave their best in all the matches and made the event a rather exciting one.
The first match was between The FYs and the TYs, of which the TYs won the match with a dominant display of skills. The FYs made a strong comeback in the first half of their next match against the SYs, but they could not hold their lead together in the second half as the SYs gave a fitting reply to their opponents and won the match. The third match between the TYs and the SYs was a little uneventful, but nevertheless exciting. Both teams held their own throughout the match, but the TYs prevailed in that encounter and won the match. The league matches finally came to an end and the FYs were knocked out due to 2 losses. The TYs and the SYs were set to clash again in the finals of the Nebula Futsal League on the 5th of August

The finale match turned out to be the best match saved till the last. Both the teams dominated the other in some point of time during the length of the match. The TYs scooped up an early lead before the first half ended. But the SYs were fired up and were not ready to give up. They gave their best performance in the 2nd half and managed to win the game in the end, providing a close to the exhilarating match put forth by both the teams.
