Nebula 2020

The Nebula event was held on the 10th and 11th of February.
DAY 1        THE EPIC FINALE (ALL ABOUT THE COMPETITION)
DAY2         THE TALK AND SPREADING KNOWLEDGE.

DAY1 THE EPIC FINALE
Throughout the year, there were many competitions held between the FY/SY/TY and the 10th of February was the last day for the these competitions where we had 4 of them. This is the reason why we would like to refer to this day as the epic finale. Simultaneously, we were getting prepared for the next day's main event. All the students from FY/SY/TY were really excited to participate in the competitions held.
The first competition held was the "GEOLOGICAL QUIZ" in which the SY won compressively. The second competition held was kind of the highlight of the day which was the "GEOLOGICAL TREAUSRE HUNT".

During this game the excitement and enthusiasm was felt and at the end of the event TY emerged as the winners. The third competition of the day was the "GEO-SPELLING BEE" which was surprisingly a draw between the FY&TY and the last competition of the day was the "GEO-DUMB CHARADES " which was fun as it is tough and at the same time funny to describe geological terminologies with just actions. The FY won this competition.
At the end of the day , the first place goes to SY,  second goes to TY and the third place goes to FY .
The epic finale ended well and was a great start to the whole event.

DAY 2-THE TALK AND SPREADING KNOWLEDGE.

On the second day, we invited a bunch of higher secondary students. The guest speaker for the day was Sir Kiran. We were delighted to have him as he spoke on the various avenues in geology. His talk not only lightened our minds but also the minds of students from higher secondary schools .

After the enlightening talk, tea and snacks were served.Later, the students were taken to different rooms where they were shown gemstones, different rock samples, fossils, some thin sections under the microscope, and even core samples. To end the knowledgeable day, we had a session called " THE INTERNSHIP CENTER".During which some of our students presented regarding the internships they have been a part of and how they can apply for that particular internship. The students spoke about internships at Dip Direction, NIO, NCPOR, TERRA HYDROTECH SOLUTIONS, etc.

Overall it was an informative day to the students in knowing the 'n' number of possibilities they can opt for in the field of geology.
Even though we are very few in number compared to the other departments , with the help of our teachers  and staff members it was possible to host a great successful event .I am thankful to my teachers, staff and colleagues for all the support provided. Without them the event wouldn't have been possible .
