Geology Interclass Control Cricket Tournament

Department of Geology in collaboration with Nebula club had organized an interclass controlled cricket tournament on 20 November 2021 between 2 00 pm to 5.00 pm, near the futsal court. The participating teams were Third Year (TY), Second Year (SY), and First Year(FY) students of the department.

In the first match played between the SY and TY students. SY students won the toss and decided to do fielding. The TY students won the first match in spite of an excellent performance by the SY students.  Multiple matches were played in a round league format to decide the finalists. Each match consisted of 6 overs. At the end of the league, the FY and TY students were declared the finalists. In the finals, FY’s won the toss and decided to do fielding. In the meanwhile the weather turned bad as it was raining heavily but still, players decided to play and the match continued. The rains affected the hard hitter in the batting lineup of the TY as they managed to score only 31 runs in the finals and the target for FY’s was 32 which they easily completed and won the match. TY's were the runners up and FYs were the champions of the tournament. The matches were officiated by the alumni of the Department including Shabaz and Hassan (2021 Batch).

Faculty members including Swati ma’am, Malcolm sir, Bagchi sir, and Audumber sir were spotted in the stands. The teachers also played for a few minutes during the tournament.

The tournament was full of energy and enthusiasm. Though all were tired, there were smiles on everyone's face. The first tournament of the department was held successfully with a good response from everyone.
